Mineshaft

Mineshaft

Description

Abandoned Mineshafts are extensive underground tunnel systems that simulate old mining operations. They feature wooden support beams, rail tracks, and various intersecting corridors. Different variants exist based on biome - Mesa/Badlands Mineshafts use dark oak wood instead of regular oak. These structures are particularly dangerous due to Cave Spider spawners hidden in cobweb-filled dead ends. The maze-like layout makes it easy to get lost without proper marking techniques.

How to Find

Abandoned Mineshafts are commonly found underground, particularly between Y-levels 0 and 32. Look for dark oak fence posts, rails, or wooden planks while mining. Mesa/Badlands biomes have increased Mineshaft spawn rates and generate at higher elevations. Mineshafts can also be spotted where they intersect with caves or ravines.
